History of this building: Development company Decoma Partners purchased the neglected Oneonta Transfer and Storage Building (built in 1925) and transformed it into an 17 unit residential loft and retail structure in 2003. The massive renovation required the addition of 20,000 pounds of structural steel and 1,000 square feet of ten-inch thick 3,000 psi structural wet-mix shotcrete. Windows were created by saw-cutting through existing concrete walls, penthouses were added to the roof level, new mechanical and electrical systems were installed, and a semi-subterranean parking structure was built to service the building.
